Becoming a Member
Life, CIRP (ret.)
A general member in good standing who has retired from active practice may apply for life membership. There are no annual fees for this category and life members retain most privileges held by general members, except the right to vote.
The candidate for life membership must also have:
(i) attained the age of 55 (fifty-five) years; and
(ii) spent at least twenty (20) years in the profession; and
(iii) at the time of the application, been a member in good standing of the Association for ten (10) years.
All conditions must be satisfied, including retirement from insolvency practice. Retired from insolvency practice means not taking on new files and spending less than 250 hours a year winding up existing files.
Upon receiving approval of the change of status, life members are invited to sign a license agreement to use the "CIRP (ret.)" version of the Certification Mark.
