Becoming a Member
Inactive
An Inactive Member is a General Member who has temporarily left insolvency practice and has, on application to the Board or Executive Committee, been deemed inactive. The consequences of being deemed inactive are:
1. termination of membership in CAIRP if General Membership is not reinstated within 5 years of becoming inactive;
2. not having any of the rights or privileges of a member and not being able to vote, receive mailings, sponsor articling members etc. and
3. not being able to use the CIRP (Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional) certification mark or displaying membership certificate.
The fee for inactive members is $300 per year.
Individuals who return to active membership are subject to the conditions set forth in the CAIRP Policy on Readmissions (2010) and must demonstrate their ability to meet current standards of practice.
