Becoming a Member
Honorary, CIRP (Hon.)
Any person who has rendered conspicuous service to the Association may be elected to honorary membership in the Association and shall be entitled to use the designation "Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (Honorary) or its acronym "CIRP (Hon.)". Honorary membership does not confer the right to be elected to the Board or to vote at meetings of the members of the Association. The first honorary member is CAIRP's past President, Norman Kondo CIRP (Hon.). He received this honour in 1997. In 1998 Ralph Neville, former long-serving CICA representative on CAIRP's Executive Committee became the second recipient of this honour. Most recently, the Association awarded an honorary membership to Dr. Janis Sarra of the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Law; she received this honour in 2007 in recognition of her distinguished service to the Association and the profession.
